Presentation

1 year history of shortness of breath and cough

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

Chest x-ray demonstrates 'sail sign' of left lower lobe collapse.

CT Chest with contrast

Hyperdense or enhancing mass within the left lower lobe bronchus, causing left lower lobe collapse. 12 mm left hilar lymph node.

Normal appearances of the solid abdominal organs. No focal bowel or mesenteric abnormality. No abdominal lymphadenopathy.

No destructive osseous lesion.

Case Discussion

Bronchoscopy and biopsy were performed.

Histology confirmed that of a carcinoid tumor.
