Right upper abdominal pain.

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male
ultrasound

A well-defined rounded hepatic mass in segment 8, heterogeneous, showing hypo and hyperechoic echotexture (ball of wool sign), with no color flow in the duplex study.

Case Discussion

This case represents a hepatic hydatid cyst with ultrasound ''serpent sign'', classified as stage CE 4 according to the 2001 WHO classification of hepatic hydatid cysts.
